Helping Others Through Fireworks
Saturday, August 6, 2022 | 9:00 PM
Great Island Commons, New Castle, NH

Sponsored by the Wood Island Life Saving Station Assoc, we're celebrating the Town of Kittery's 375th birthday, alongside the U.S. Coast Guard's 232nd birthday with a food drive and fireworks display! The fireworks will begin at 9:00 PM, and be set off out on the Piscataqua River (near Fishing Island).
While there are a variety of places along the river where the fireworks can be seen, the prime viewing spot for this event is Great Island Commons in New Castle, NH.
If planning to watch the fireworks at Fort McClary please plan to arrive early to get a parking spot, as the Fort has approximately 40 parking spaces. Carpooling is encouraged.
There will be no parking along Pepperrell Road and Crockett Neck Road near Ft. McClary. Violators may be fined and towed.
Visitors and residents are reminded not to park on sidewalks, or block passage along roads or driveways and to please respect the property owners along the viewing route. Any damage from parking on private property without permission will be the responsibility of the vehicle owner.
The Town’s parking lot at Pepperrell Cove will close at 8:00 PM. Spectators are welcome to walk down to the parking lot to view the fireworks. Parking will be available at the Mitchell Primary School.
Due to where the fireworks are being set off, Fort Foster will not offer a good viewing location for spectators. The Fort Foster gates will not be open for the fireworks.
While we celebrate these exciting milestone birthdays, we hope to continue the tradition of helping others by donating non-perishable food items to help support our local food pantries, Footprints and Gather. Food items will be collected at the August 6th event at Great Island Commons in New Castle, NH, or they can be dropped off at the Kittery Community Center or Kittery Town Hall during regular business hours until August 12, 2022.
